Swimming Floats Past University of Puget Sound in Coed Relay Meet

The Seattle University swim teams combined for a special coed relay meet, winning 11 of 12 events to ease past the University of Puget Sound, 141-58, Saturday afternoon at the Connolly Center pool.

The swim teams combined for a special coed relay meet, winning 11 of 12 events to ease past the of , 141-58, Saturday afternoon at the pool.

The meet started off with Gordon Smith (Kennewick, Wash.), Francesca Reale (Gig Harbor, Wash.), Kelsey Henan (Billings, Mont.), and Bryant Bevers (Federal Way, Wash.) winning the 200 free relay in 1:35.09. Christina Hunsberger (, ), Nathan Freeman (, ), and Andrew Miron (, ) combined to win the 1500 free relay in 15:12.60, and Bevers, Alex Weiss (Reno, Nev.), Kevin Daniels (Newcastle, Wash.), and Heather Nelson (Bremerton, Wash.) earned the victory in the 400 fly relay with a time of 3:49.51.

After UPS won the 400 back relay, the quartet of Bryson Chiu (, ), Carole Triem (, ), Nelson, and Doug Djang () won the 400 breast relay in 4:27.38. Chase Winterroth (Lake Stevens, Wash.), Henan, Kaci Dudley (Murrieta, Calif.), and Smith proved victorious in the 800 free relay in 7:42.80, while Michael Wheeler (Freemont, Calif.), Chiu, Weiss, and Elizabeth Hanohano (Honolulu, Hawaii) finished first in the 800 medley relay in 8:29.49. Before the final break of the meet, Djang, Dudley, Miron, and Weiss won the 800 IM relay in 8:40.52.

Chris Coley (Austin, Texas), Weiss, Hanohano, and Daniels won the 200 fly relay in 1:44.50, while Reale, Wheeler, Dudley, and Chiu touched first in the 200 back relay in 1:47.08. Djang, Chris Anderson (Bellevue, Wash.), Triem, and Nelson finished first in the 200 breast relay in 2:02.93, and Freeman, Alison Colnon (Seattle, Wash.), Smith, and Henan finished off the meet with a first place finish in the 400 free relay in 3:33.59.
