SEATTLE – After much waiting, Seattle U track and field begins its indoor season on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the UW Indoor Preview, held as always at the Dempsey Indoor facility on the University of Washington Campus. The first events will begin at 8:45 a.m. PT.
"I'm really looking forward to the start of our 2020 season," said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan. "Over the past two years, we brought in over 50 new freshmen and transfers – combined with the upperclassmen, it opens up a lot of possibilities. We are a truly well-rounded program with competitors in sprints, jumps, throws, hurdles, relays, multi-events, mid-distance and distance events. This is something we have all been working towards."
A mixed crew of upperclassmen and underclassmen will be heading out to the Dempsey this weekend, with the men competing in 11 total events and the women in 12.
The men's field consists of Alaska Anchorage, British Columbia, Central Washington, Concordia (Ore.), Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, no. 10 Oregon, Portland, Portland State, St. Martin's, Seattle Pacific, Seattle U, Simon Fraser, Stanford, Trinity Western, no. 14 UCLA, Washington, Washington State, Weber State, Western Oregon and Western Washington, as well as various track and field clubs.
