2021 Outdoor: Posted the WAC's 14th-best, personal season best and first place mark of 12.93m (42' 5.25") in the triple jump at the SU/Seattle Pacific Dual... set new personal best in the 400m with a time of 51.63 at the Ken Shannon Invitational... had season best finish in the 200m of 23.62 at the Oregon State PNW Team Clash... Apart of the 4x400m relay team that took first in the SU/Seattle Pacific Dual.
2020 Indoor: Posted a leap of 12.56m (41’ 2.5”) in the triple jump at the WAC Indoor Championships… had a triple jump mark of 12.60m (41’ 4.25”) at the Idaho Team Challenge… took third place with the 4x400m relay team at the Portland Indoor One with a combined time of 3:32.63… at that meet, ran the 200m dash in 24.44… posted a mark of 12.67m (41’ 7”) in the triple jump at the UW Preview.
2019 Outdoor: Took second place in the 400m dash with a time of 52.44 at the Ken Shannon Invitational… had a triple jump mark of 12.60m at the St. Martin’s Jay Hammer Invitational… at the Doris Heritage Track Festival, had the 13th-best outdoor triple jump score in the conference with 12.88m… also had a personal-best 23.66 200m dash in that meet… also took second place with the 4x100m relay team in that meet with a time of 42.92.
2019 Indoor: Finished the 400m dash in 52.65 at the Last Chance College Elite… had the 15th-best mark in the WAC for the indoor triple jump with a leap of 12.39m at the Cougar Indoor… at the UW Preview, took first place in his heat in the 400m run with a time of 52.85.
2018 Outdoor: Ran a 23.65 200m dash at the Jay Hammer Invitational… won his section of the 400m race with a time of 51.76 at the Bryan Clay Invitational…
2018 Indoor: As a member of the 4x400 relay team, took sixth place in the Western Athletic Conference Indoor Championships with a time of 3.31.97… won his section in the 400m at the University of Washington Open with a 53.00 time.
2017 Outdoor: At Ken Shannon Invitational, finished 17th in the 400 with a personal record time of 54.52 ... At Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open, finished the 200 with a personal record time of 24.28.
2017 Indoor: At WAC Championships, finished the 400 with a time of 56.31 ... Also at the WAC Championships, was on the 4x400 relay team that finished fifth with a time of 3:27.60 ... At the UW Invite, finished the 200 with a time of 24.61 ... At the UW Indoor Preview, finished the 400 with a personal record time of 53.22.
HIGH SCHOOL: At Sacred Heart Cathedral high school, Kailan Claiborne competed for two years on varsity track and field, running in sprints, and one year on varsity basketball. Claiborne ran the 200, 400, and 4x400 for three years, and placing fifth in the 4x400 at the WCAL Finals in 2015, and sixth in the 4x400 at WCAL in 2016. He won a CCS Championship in California for basketball in 2015, and made it to the NCS quarterfinals for basketball in 2015. Claiborne was awarded the SHC Scholar Athlete Award for his achievements in the classroom as a student-athlete during his junior and senior years.
PERSONAL: Claiborne is majoring in communication studies with a minor in business administration.
