The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) announced its 2016 Academic All-WAC teams Tuesday.
The list includes Academic All-WAC baseball, softball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams, as well as the Academic All-WAC freshmen/transfer teams for all sports.
With 48 total Spring sport honorees (not including freshmen or transfers), Seattle U ranks in the Top 3 in the entire WAC (11 schools) for number of student-athletes to be named to this list.
In order to be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA, and have participated in at least half of the team’s contests.
Many Redhawks made the list for spring sports and freshmen/transfers for all teams, proving these student-athletes excel both in their respective sports and in the classroom.
