Pendley-Griffin Sets School Record in 800m

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Seattle U track and field finished off its two day meet at the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis, Ore., at the Whyte Track and Field Center. As a team, the Redhawks had one new school record, two first place finishes and six new marks on their all time top-10 list.

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Seattle U track and field finished off its two day meet at the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis, Ore., at the Whyte Track and Field Center. As a team, the Redhawks had one new school record, two first place finishes and six new marks on their all time top-10 list. 

Sophomore Ansel Pendley-Griffin is the new record holder in the 800m with a time of 1:52.72, while sophomore Isaiah Payne paced the 200m with a time of 21.77 and junior Tricht Jocelyn wins the 100m by .01.

For the second straight meet, freshman Maya McCabe improves her second place all-time 800m time, while sophomore Lucas Milne moves up the top-10 list in the 110m hurdle, improving from fourth to second. Freshman Jay Grant made his personal debut in the steeplechase and now ranks eighth all time, while sophomore Rowan Cuadrado competes in the second straight meet in the steeplechase, improving her 6th place all time mark.

In the field events, freshman Xavier Kelley improved upon his long jump and triple jump all time marks as he now ranks fifth in the long jump and stays at sixth in the triple jump. Sophomore Nate Shani puts his name in the record books as he ranks eighth all time in the long jump.

Seattle U set an additional eight PRs over the two day event.

Alex Franklin - new PR in the 800m and 1500m.
Alex Jensen - new PR in the 1500m.
Javon Arnone - new PR in the 1500m.
Chloe Deleissegues - new PR in the long jump.
Jami Tresselt - new PR in the javelin throw.

The Redhawks next meet will have them back in Seattle as they compete in the UW Ken Shannon Invitational from May 7-8.
