Cannata-Bowman finished second in the B section of the 5000 meter run with a time of 14:45.88, over nine seconds faster than the previous mark. Erik Barkhaus (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) finished in sixth place in 15:11.33, with Nicholas Alvarado (San Francisco, Calif.) right behind him in seventh place in 15:11.70. Hans Heitzinger (Scottsdale, Ariz.) crossed the finish line in 12th place in 15:35.35, and Adam Kollgaard (Kent, Wash.) posted a time of 15:52.77 for a 13th place finish.
Zach Stanfield (Adna, Wash.) finished sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.00 seconds. In the B section of the men's 1500 meter run, Kelton Sears (Maple Valley, Wash.) finished eighth with a personal-best time of 3:58.50. Michael Van Nuland (Newcastle, Wash.) competed in the men's 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing in 21st place with a time of 9:52.12.
In Spokane, Lauren Hammerle (Seattle, Wash.) led the Seattle U contingent in the women's 5000 meter run, finishing ninth overall with a time of 18:23.85. Rachel Yorkston (Bellingham, Wash.) finished in 12th place in 18:33.46, and Greta Stickney (Poulsbo, Wash.) crossed the finish line in 26th place with a time of 19:58.59.
Seattle University will be represented in four events Saturday at the Oregon Relays, starting with Daniel Sullivan (Tukwila, Wash.) in the 400 meter hurdles at 11:45 a.m. Tom Mezzera (San Francisco, Calif.) will compete in the 400 meter dash at 12:05 p.m., while Stanfield is the second seed in the 100 meter dash which is scheduled to start at 12:55 p.m. Sullivan, Stanfield, Mezzera, and either Jude Martinez (Hagatna, Guam) or Christopher Fussell (Las Vegas, Nev.) will run the 4x400 meter relay at 2:55 p.m.
Most of the rest of the Seattle University track and field team will compete at the Duane Hartman Invitational Saturday, with the first field events beginning at 10 a.m. and the opening track event starting at 10:30 a.m.
