Three Seattle University outdoor track and field records fell as the squad continued its participation in the Willamette Invitational Saturday at Charles Bowles Track.

Zach Stanfield (Adna, Wash.) posted the fastest time in the 200 meter dash, setting a new school record with a time of 21.81 seconds. He also was second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.77 seconds, just 5/100ths of a second off that school record. Tom Mezzera (San Francisco, Calif.) won his heat of the 100 meter dash, finishing 12th overall with a time of 11.18 seconds, followed by a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash in 22.31 seconds.

The other two records came in field events, with Dylan Burnett (Lynnwood, Wash.) setting a new school record in the javelin throw with a top toss of 51 meters (167' 4"). Meanwhile, Navotni Minter (Edmond, Okla.) posted a top leap of 5.09 meters (16' 8.5") in the women's long jump, good enough for a new school record and a third place finish overall in the event. Also in the women's long jump, Kaytie Bateman (Chehalis, Wash.) finished in seventh with a top jump of 4.79 meters (15' 8.75") and Kamala Squires (Ventura, Calif.) had a top leap of 4.66 meters (15' 3.5") for a 12th place finish.

Elsewhere in the field events, Lindsay Currier (Beaverton, Ore.) finished second in the discus throw with a top toss of 37.68 meters (123' 7"), while Brittany Philio (Renton, Wash.) finished third in the high jump after clearing height of 1.53 meters (5' 0.25"). Becca Urbany (Damascus, Ore.) finished fourth in the triple jump with a best effort of 10.57 meters (34' 8.25"), and Amanda Luna (Beavercreek, Ore.) posted a top leap of 9.90 meters (32' 5.75") to finish in 14th place in the same event.

Back on the track, Daniel Sullivan (Tukwila, Wash.) finished in third place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 54.75 seconds. Jude Martinez (Hagatna, Guam) finished in 12th place in 59.67 seconds, Jabari Fraser (Bethesda, Md.) posted a time of 61.50 seconds to finish in 14th place, and Robert Poshusta (Bremerton, Wash.) finished in 16th place with a time of 64.69 seconds. In the men's 400 meter dash, Christopher Fussell (Las Vegas, Nev.) posted a time of 55.09 seconds to finish in 22nd place.

Meeghan Bergmann (Portland, Ore.) won her heat of the women's 400 meter dash, finishing sixth overall with a time of 60.70 seconds. Rachel Purcell (Mission Viejo, Calif.) posted a time of 61.20 seconds to finish in 10th place, and Elena Collins (Eugene, Ore.) finished 15th overall with a time of 62.06 seconds. In the women's 200 meter dash, Elizabeth Wolf (Albuquerque, N.M.) finished tied for 13th overall with a time of 27.83 seconds, while Erin Moon (Honolulu, Hawaii) posted a time of 28.58 seconds for a 19th place finish.

In the men's 800 meter run, Rustin Winger (Tracyton, Wash.) finished 12th overall with a time of 1:59.08, Dan Auld (Eugene, Ore.) finished in 16th place in 2:00.26, Keenan Clinch (Sammamish, Wash.) posted a time of 2:01.33 for a 20th place finish, and Hector Estrada (The Colony, Tex.) finished in 32nd place in 2:05.08. On the women's side, Clare Obradovich (Tigard, Ore.) led the way with a time of 2:26.94 for a 19th place finish, while Celeste Cassidy (Bellingham, Wash.) finished in 21st place in 2:27.58, and Nicole Waters (Phoenix, Ariz.) posted a time of 2:28.10 for a 22nd place finish.

Besides the long jump, Minter and Bateman both competed in the women's 100 meter hurdles, with Minter finishing in 17th place in 16.66 seconds and Bateman posting a time of 18.59 seconds. In the men's 110 meter hurdles, Michael Cardinal (Lafayette, Colo.) finished in 15th place with a time of 16.56 seconds, while Poshusta ran the event in 17.71 seconds for a 21st place finish.

In the relays, the men's 4x100 relay team of Mezzera, Stanfield, Sullivan, and Martinez finished in third place with a time of 43.06 seconds. Sullivan and Martinez were joined by Fraser and Fussell in the 4x400 meter relay, posting a time of 3:32.60 to finish in fifth place.

Collins, Obradovich, Bergmann, and Waters paced the women's 4x400 meter relay team to a fourth place finish with a time of 4:08.91. Obradovich and Bergmann, along with Purcell and Wolf, finished in seventh place in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 50.86 seconds.

The Seattle University track and field team heads east for two meets next weekend. Friday, April 9, the team will compete at the Pelluer Invitational hosted by Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Wash. The next day, the Redhawks will participate in the Oregon-Washington Dual Meet at Spokane Falls Community College in Spokane, Wash.
