The women’s swim team won nine events on its way to a 136-100 victory over Cal State Bakersfield, while the men’s team earned victories in five events but fell to the Roadrunners, 110.5-93.5, Saturday evening at the .
Junior Elizabeth Hanohano (, ) and freshman Casey Hoffman () each won two events, with Hanohano earning victories in the 200 freestyle (1:57.76) and 100 freestyle (55.10) and Hoffman touching the wall first in the 1000 freestyle (10:56.49) and the 500 freestyle (5:22.27). Hanohano also anchored the victorious 200 free relay quartet, joining Hanna Basler (, ), Kelsey Henan (, ), and Kaci Dudley (, ) in posting a time of 1:43.22, with overcoming an early deficit to put the team ahead for good.
Other individual winners included Hayley Cobb (, ) in the 200 individual medley (2:12.81), Heather Nelson (, ) in the 100 butterfly (1:01.28), and Alexis Morehouse in the 100 breaststroke (). Tina Nguyen (, ), Morehouse, Cobb, and Basler also combined to kick off the meet with a victory in the 200 medley relay in 1:52.27.
Jordan Anderson (, ) and Doug Djang (, ) were the stars for on the men’s side, each winning two individual events. Djang finished first in the 200 individual medley (1:59.37) and the 100 breaststroke (58.36), while won the 50 freestyle (21.85) and the 100 freestyle (47.70). also led off the victorious 200 freestyle relay squad, joining Bryant Bevers ( Way, ), Jeff Tibbals (, ), and Chris Fulton () in posting a time of 1:26.42.
James White () posted season-best times in both the 500 freestyle (4:51.01) and 1000 freestyle (10:00.50), finishing third in each event. Tibbals (48.03) and Fulton (48.40) followed in the 100 freestyle as took the top three positions in that event. The quartet of Eric Pedack (, ), Djang, Garrett Nugent (), and Bevers finished second by just three-tenths of a second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:36.46.
The women’s swim team will face Loyola Marymount in tomorrow, Nov. 9, beginning at 12 noon. The Redhawk swim teams will not have a home meet until Saturday, Jan. 10, against at the .
