Seattle swims against Chinese National Team and top teams from Canada

The swim teams swam in the Simon Fraser Clan Cup over the weekend. The meet included the Chinese National Team and several top Canadian Teams. The meet was scored as a combined meet with both men and women accounting for the final score. placed sixth of the 13 teams with several top individual performances.

Gordon Smith () had two top five finishes, placing fifth in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.92 and finishing second in the 400 freestyle final by swimming a time of 4:07.16

Chris Coley () just missed a B standard by swimming a 57.97 in the 100 Butterfly to advance to the final where he took fifth. He also finished third in the 50 butterfly with a time of 26.65

Nathan Freeman () had two top four finished, taking third in the 800 freestyle in a time of 8:53.50 and fourth in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:58.27.

Michael Wheeler () finished fifth in the 200 backstroke by swimming a time of 2:15.72. He also swam 2:14.68 in the prelims.

Bryson Chiu () placed third in the 200 individual medley by swimming a time of 2:12.09. In the 200 butterfly Kevin Daniels () finished fourth with a time of 2:13.38

In the women’s 1500 freestyle, got a second place finish from Kelsey Henan (, ) who swam a time of 18:05.07 and a fifth place from Christina Hunsberger () who swam a time of 19:00.21.

Hunsberger also placed third in the 800 freestyle in a time of 9:37.60. Just behind her was Alison Colnon () who finished fifth in 9:40.41.

In the relays, the women finished sixth in the 200 freestyle relay when a team of , , Kaci Dudley (, ), and Elizabeth Hanohano () swam a time of 1:55.77. In the 200 medley relay finished fifth with a time of 2:07.98 swum by Francesca Reale (, ), Carole Triem (, ), Alex Weiss (, ), and .

For the men, finished second in the 200 freestyle relay with a team of Doug Djang (, ), Smith, Bryant Bevers (), and Coley. They backed that up with a fourth place swim in the 200 medley relay with a team of Chiu, Djang, Coley, and Bevers that swam a time of 1:48.62.
