The Redhawk Experience (TREx) challenges us to purposefully engage, reflect, serve and prepare— driving development of the whole person in mind, body and spirit.

Student athletes are “all in” for their Seattle U Jesuit education. TREx challenges student athletes to confidently engage with their teammates, coaches, classmates, faculty, community, and Seattle.
Student athletes purposefully reflect on the meaning of their experiences and engagement, challenging them to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually.
Student athletes shift their knowledge into action by serving others in their residence halls, classrooms, and teams, as well as through community engagement and partnerships.
Student athletes develop skills and perspectives, preparing them to lead as athletes, students, and alumni.

At Seattle U, we believe that personal formation is built in the pursuit of championships. In collaboration with campus partners, TREx’s immersive and transformative engagement opportunities cultivate inclusive excellence, a profound sense of belonging, and instill transferrable, lifelong skills.

It was so cool to connect with the current student athletes. What all of us learned by being a member of a team and a member of the larger Seattle U student athlete community transitions so well to the workplace.Stephanie Bayless, '16, Women's Swimming, Sherwin-Williams store manager in Seattle

Thanks to all the staff and students for a wonderful evening. My father and I had a great time, and I really enjoyed supporting all of our student athletes. They continue to be great leaders in their sports, as well as in the classroom.Professor Gabriel Saucedo, Accounting Department

TREx responds to the urgent need to develop effective, ethical leaders. Throughout their SU career, student athletes integrate the Ignatian process within the nine TREx programs, developing in mind, body and spirit, emerging as empowered exemplars of the Seattle U mission, leaders for justice, and proud Redhawks for Life.

My hope is that TREx will be a source of pride for our students, faculty, staff and alumni that develops Redhawks for Life and draws future generations of students to the transformative opportunities of our intercollegiate athletics experience.Shaney Fink, Director of Athletics
