SEATTLE - Spanning across 15 varsity athletic programs, Seattle University, in partnership with the National Collegiate Honor Society and Chi Alpha Sigma, recognized 38 student athletes for their academic excellence and athletic accomplishments as part of the induction class of 2026.
The organization, Chi Alpha Sigma, is also known as the National College Athlete Honor Society. Chi Alpha Sigma was established in 1996 by Depauw University’s former head football coach Nick Mourouzis, who aimed to provide student-athletes with the opportunity to become a part of a fraternal association that represents both their academic and athletic achievements.
To earn recognition, student-athletes must hold a 3.5 cumulative GPA in at least their junior year academically.
Chi Alpha Sigma has inducted over 17,000 student-athletes in its 30 years as an organization. Over 500 institutions nationwide operate their own chapter across all divisions of college athletics.
