SEATTLE — The 2025 season culminates this weekend for the Seattle U cross country team. The Redhawks will travel to Sacramento, for the NCAA Division I West Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 14. The women’s 6k will begin at 9:00 a.m., and the men’s 10k will begin at 10:00 a.m.
The women’s team is battle-tested for the 6k – they raced it at this year’s Cougar Classic, Bronco Invitational, and WCC Championship. Azalea Groleau is particularly accustomed to the 6k race; Groleau is the school’s all-time record holder in the event, with a 20:28 time in the 2024 WAC Championship, breaking her own Seattle U record. In last year’s NCAA West Regional, Groleau produced the best individual finish in Redhawks history.
Diana Camargo-Solis also has her place in the school’s history books. She holds the sixth-best 6k time in Seattle U history, with a 21:18 finish at the 2024 WAC Championship. Groleau and Camargo-Solis are primed to further cement their Seattle U legacies in Sacramento. Freshman Mira Danish will look to build on an impressive debut season, which includes a 6k time of 22:30 at the Bronco Invitational on Oct. 18.
The bar is raised for the women’s team this season; last year, they recorded the best regionals finish in Redhawk women’s history, finishing 17th as a team.
The men will run the 10k competitively for the first time this season, but earned long-distance experience in the 8k race at the Cougar Classic, Charles Bowles Invitational, Bronco Invitational, and WCC Championship, and raced an 8,800-meter bout on Sep. 2.
Freshman Roman Radecki will look to deliver his best performance yet in a season full of awe-inspiring races. Radecki ran the 12th best 8k in Seattle U history (24:57) at the Charles Bowles Invitational. Aidan Loeffelman and Seku Sanders will look to improve upon their WCC Championship showing, in which they were the second and third Redhawks to finish behind Radecki.
