SEATTLE – The Seattle University Redhawks set 16 new personal bests and seven new program top-ten times at the UW Invitational. Rachel Albright, JR Zamora, McKenna White, Diana Camargo Solis, and Annabelle Clapp all individually set new top-ten times. Two relay teams set new top-ten times as well, in the distance and 4x400m relays.

In the distance medley, McKenna White, Clapp, Alisha Saucedo, and Camargo Solis ran a 12:00.45, the third-best time in SU history. All three of those top times for SU have come in the last three years. In the 4x400m relay, Matthew Fiso, Alex Jensen, Seku Sanders, and Alexzander Osorio had the eighth-fastest time in SU history with a 3:24.49.

Individually, Albright started off the impressive showing for the Redhawks in the weight throw, where her 12.08m throw was a new personal best by almost a full meter. That throw was the fourth-best in Seattle University history, joining Bethany Richards, Amanda Luna, and Jami Tresselt as the only Redhawks to break the 12-meter mark.

The mile saw two new top-ten times for the Redhawks as well. McKenna White ran a 4:59.92, becoming the fifth Redhawk ever with a sub five-minute mile and just two seconds behind Lila Rice's fourth-best 4:57.43 from 2017. Camargo Solis had the tenth-fastest SU mile ever with a 5:04.49. Seku Sanders (4:22.64), Dan Barreto (4:27.84), Porter Buck (4:22.39), Parker Wagnild (4:24.06), and Jordan White (5:28.06) all set personal bests in the mile as well, joining Camargo Solis and McKenna White in that regard.

In the 60m dash, Zamora set a new personal best for the second straight week, running a 7.07 that was tied with Jim Mezzera for eighth in SU history.

In her first collegiate 800m, Annabelle Clapp ran a 2:19.26. That was good for ninth in SU history, just behind Hannah Mittelstaedt's 2:19.05 from 2013. Five other Redhawks also set new personal bests in the 800m: Jackie Garcia-Sandoval (2:26.98), Jordan White (2:28.63), Aidan Loeffelman (2:01.10), Eli Perez (2:02.22), and Diego Razo-Castaneda (2:01.74). Rock Gignac aso set a new personal best this weekend with his 56.17 in the 400m.

One more meet remains before the WAC Indoor Championships. The Redhawks will once again head across town to Washington's Dempsey Indoor Facility for the Husky Classic. That two-day meet will begin February 14. Seattle University will also send some sprinters and jumpers to the Riverfront Invite in Spokane on February 6.
