SEATTLE - The Seattle University Redhawks are ready for the Western Athletic Conference Championships next, set for November 1. The WAC Championships will take place at Lakeside Park in Orem, Utah. The women's 6k will be first, beginning at 9:00 am PT, with the men's 8k to follow at approximately 9:45 pm. Admission to the event is free.

The Redhawks head to the WAC Championships fresh off an impressive showing at the Bronco Invitational. There, Azalea Groleau set a new school record in the 6k, besting her own previous school record by running a 20:44.4. Diana Camargo Solis also put a time in the program's all-time top 20, running a 21:23 that was the seventh-fastest in Seattle University history. Lilianne Hargreaves ran the fourth-fastest Redhawk time ever as well, at 21:07.

At last season's WAC Championships, Groleau was named All-WAC Second Team as the Redhawks' top finisher. Camargo Solis and Hargreaves also competed in last year's championships and are back this year. Hargreaves ran a 22:38.7 last year, while Camargo Solis ran a 23:48.1.

Gigi Bareilles, Lydia Dale, Jordan White, Alisha Saucedo, Annabelle Clapp, and McKenna White will all compete on the women's side this year as well.

On the men's side, five returners competed in last year's championships. Yonas Sauers, Lance Mason, Parker Wagnild, Alex Jensen, and Dan Barreto all ran last year and will compete again this season. Sauers was the top finisher for the Redhawks last year, running a 25:56.

Also competing at the WAC Championships for the men this year will be Aidan Loeffelman, Jeremy Posdon, Seku Sanders, and Porter Buck.
