RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Seattle U men's and women's swimming finished up day one of their first meet of the new season today down in Riverside. The day was highlighted by a top-10 school finish for Danielis Kvederis and a win in the men's 400 free relay.
"We had a pretty solid start to the season today," said head coach Joe Dykstra. "Traveling all morning and then straight into competition is not easy and I admire the way the team is learning to handle adversity. We were way better than we were at the start of last year, so we are encouraged by that. It was fun to cap off the day with a big win in the men's 400 free relay in a really great early season time"
The relay team of Nicholas Imig, Cole Lanting, Michael Luna, and Danielis Kvederis ended the day on a high note, taking home first in the 400 free fly with a time of 3:04.17. They beat out California Baptist by three tenth of a second.
Kvederis also had an impressive individual day, snagging a school all-time top-10 finish in the 200 backstroke at 1:50.85. He was joined by fellow freshman Keanu Lee, who's 4:06.35 in the 400 IM was also an all-time top-10 finish in program history.
