UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Seattle U men's golf concluded play at the ninth annual Redhawk Invitational on Tuesday, placing second overall for the second consecutive tournament. Graduate student Nathan Cogswell picked up another top-five finish, grabbing fourth overall with a three-round total of 211 (66-69-76). The two-day, three round event took place at Chamber's Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington, on the 6,989 yards course with a par of 71.

"What an amazing couple of days," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "I am so thankful for the coaches and players who choose our event and want to give a big congratulations to the University of Idaho on their win. I am very proud of our team's finish and all of their hard work over the event. When the weather cooperates as nicely as it did this week, Chamber's Bay provides one of the most amazing experiences I know of in the game."

The Redhawks played some of their best golf on the par fives, finishing second out of the 17 teams with an average of 4.86 and scoring of six-under. Seattle U finished tied for fourth in made birdies (42) and pars (164). The second place performance ties Seattle U's best ever finish as a team at the Redhawk Invitational as they also took second in 2015.

Cogswell was strong on the par fours and fives, finishing seventh and eighth overall with scorings of even and three-under and averages of four and 4.67. The Kent, Washington, native also finished third overall in made pars with 39.

Fellow graduate student Jack Rahon (74-72-71) claimed a top-20 finish, tying for second in the field with 14 made pars in the final round. Rahon was stellar on the par fives all tournament, tying for fourth with an average of 4.56 and scoring of four-under.

Sophomore Liam Gill (75-71-73) finished two strokes behind Rahon, while junior Blake Kukula (82-69-77) played some of his best golf in the second round with five made birdies and freshman Ben Ragland (77-75-71) improved after each round.

Competing as an individual were senior John Morrow (75-76-68) and freshman Jakob Balkovec (74-74-76) and Burly Hildreth (81-80-76).

"I want to send a huge thank you to everyone that makes this event possible for Seattle U each year," said Chandonnet. "To Zac Keener and the entire staff at Chamber's Bay for a fantastic job and Terry & Sandy Thomas for providing snacks and drinks for the entire field. Also, Pete Peltier and the entire USGA staff who monitor our rules and generously donate their personal time to give back to the game. Lastly, I am very appreciative of the entire Seattle U staff and to everyone who volunteered to assist with live scoring."

Seattle U will head to one more tournament before the WAC Championships at the end of the month, traveling to Davis, California, for the UC Davis El Macero Classic from April 14-16.
