SEATTLE – Seattle U women's golf has released its 2022-23 regular season schedule, featuring five fall and spring tournaments, followed by the Western Athletic Conference Championship in Blaine, Wash., from April 23-25.

"This season's schedule is exciting and includes some of the most competitive and beautiful places we've ever had the chance to play in," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "With a majority of last year's strong squad returning, qualifying for trips should be very competitive and help us improve throughout the year. We will be leaning strongly on our team captain, Samantha Bruce, for her leadership and the great summer she had should help us get the year started strong."

The Redhawks open the year with a trip to the southern bayou, heading to the Tulane Green Wave Classic in New Orleans, La., from September 12-13. Five days later, they'll make a second straight appearance at the Gonzaga Invitational where sophomore Rivekka Jumagulova showed everyone her skills last season, posting her first of three finishes in the top five.

SU continues a busy September with a trip to Canton, Mass., for the Boston College Intercollegiate from the 26-27 before hosting the eighth annual Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club in Lakewood, Wash., from Oct. 3-4. The Redhawks completed the trophy sweep at the Pat Lesser Harbottle last season, with Jumagulova capturing her first individual title and the team taking the overall title by four strokes. The fall season comes to a conclusion with The Clash at Boulder Creek, hosted by NAU, in Henderson, Nev., from Oct. 23-25.

The spring season begins with match play rules at the Wyoming Match Play Championships in Palm Desert, Calif., from February 13-14. Seattle U claimed its second overall team title last season at the Match Play Championships, with sophomore Shayna Lu defeating all her opponents to earn her first WAC Golfer of the Week award.

February ends with a seventh straight trip to the GCU Lopes Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., from the 27-28 where graduate student Samantha Bruce took second overall at two-under 214 last season. March features two tournaments with the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational from the 6-7 in Dallas, Tex., and the Hawaii Anuenue Spring Break Classic from the 27-29 in Ka'anapali, Maui, Hawaii. The regular season comes to a finish with the Silicon Valley Showcase, hosted by Santa Clara in Millbrae, Calif., from April 10-11.

The year's team features multiple key returners with WAC Freshman of the Year and All-WAC Second Team member, Rivekka Jumagulova, First Team All-WAC member, Samantha Bruce, and Shayna Lu, who only missed one tournament due to injury. The sole newcomer is freshman Aaryanna Morris, while the rest of the team is compiled of sophomore Annika Cruz, Maria Fedorowycz, Konomi Matsubara and Samantha Yates, as well as seniors Azumi Arai and Megan Kelly. Seattle U added a new assistant coach in former Redhawk star, Joe Harvie, providing coach Chandonnet and company with added top level playing experience.
