SALEM, Ore. – Seattle U cross country took part in its second race of the 2021-22 season on Saturday, finishing in third place (87 points) for the women and fourth place (136 points) for the men. The men's 8k and women's 5k was held at McCulloch Stadium and Bush Park in Salem, Ore.
"It was a pretty solid day for both our teams," said Head Coach Kelly Sullivan. "It was great to see some of our runners race as this was their first time in two years. I am so proud of how hard all of them have been and will continue to work. Looking forward to adding a couple more runners to this group in a couple of weeks."
Sophomore Rowan Cuadrado and junior Emily Harris led the way for the Redhawks as they both placed in the top-10 with times of 18:27.7 and 18:28.2. Rounding out the top three for SU was sophomore Fiona O'Leary, finishing with a time of 18:52.4.
On the men's side, freshman Giuliano Scasso was the first Redhawk to cross the finish line, finishing in seventh place with a time of 24:52.5. Sophomore Jay Grant (25:23.2) was close behind him, while senior Ansel Pendley-Griffin (25:56.1) concludes the top three finishers for SU.
