Seattle University men’s tennis closed out their regular season on a high note, with the program’s first win over Portland State since the return of the program five years ago. The Vikings earned the doubles point, but Seattle U fought back with six straight singles wins to defeat PSU, 6-1.

The senior duo, Kevin Lynch (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Jason Bediones (Kent, Wash.) earned a win at No. 1 doubles, but the Vikings would come back to take the No. 2 and No. 3 matches to earn the first point.

The Redhawks, however, would fight back and win each singles match, with Zach Kosanke (Bellevue, Wash.) starting off with a straight sets victory, 6-0, 6-4, over Kacper Stelmaszak. Lynch would cap off the victory with a win, 7-6, 6-1, at No. 1 singles versus Brent Wheeler.

After their most successful spring in recent history, Seattle U will now prepare for the Western Athletic Conference tournament from Apr. 25-27 in Las Cruces, N.M.
