Seattle University men’s tennis honored their senior class with a 7-0 victory over Pacific Lutheran on Senior Day at Amy Yee Tennis Center in Seattle.
The Redhawks nabbed the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to go ahead, 1-0.
SU would follow with six straight sets victories in each singles match to earn a 7-0 shutout. Of note, Riley Newman (Whidbey Island, Wash.) and Connor Leahy (Portland, Ore.) each defeated their opponents, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
In between doubles and singles play, the Redhawks honored Kevin Lynch (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Jason Bediones (Kent, Wash.) in the final home match of their Seattle U career.
Seattle U has one final dual match of the spring season on Friday, Apr. 11 vs. Portland State at 4 p.m. at Green Meadows Tennis Club in Vancouver, Wash. The Western Athletic Conference tournament, hosted by New Mexico State, will take place from Friday, Apr. 25 to Sunday, Apr. 27 in Las Cruces, N.M.
