“We fought through the rain and mud today to come away with a big win,” said head coach Dan Powers. “Our pitchers battled through the tough conditions and our hitters hit the ball hard all game. Brianna [Guerrero] and Isabella [Geronimo] had some great at bats today.”
Seattle U would take the early lead on a double to right field by Brianna Guerrero (Buena Park, Calif.), driving in Isabella Geronimo (San Mateo, Calif.) in the first inning.
The Redhawks added four more runs on back-to-back-to-back plays in the top of the second with two outs. Guerrero drove in Sarah Petosa (Federal Way, Wash.) and Paige Bouska (Keizer, Ore.) with a 2RBI double to right center before Bubba Morrow (Auburn, Wash.) batted her home on a single down the right field line. Lisa Maulden (Maple Valley, Wash.) would hit a double to center field, driving in Morrow, before Boston U made a pitching change and earned the final out.

Brittany Younan scored the first run on a sacrifice fly by Emily Felbaum before Moriah Connolly and Jayme Mask scored on a 2RBI single by Mandy Fernandez. Fernandez would come around to score as Brittany Clendenny advanced to second on a wild pitch.

The next five Redhawk runs would be scored by four batters hit by pitch with the bases loaded and a bases loaded walk.
BU narrowed the margin, 13-6, in the bottom of the inning as Felbaum doubled down the right field line to drive in Mask and Younan.
Kayla Shuster-Gonzales (Escondido, Calif.) added another run in the fifth, but Boston U inched closer with two runs apiece in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to trail, 14-10, with one inning remaining.
