Will Topp (Olympia, Wash.) and Zach Kosanke (Bellevue, Wash.) took the first doubles win, 8-4, but the Redhawks dropped the final two at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles as MSU earned the doubles point.
Riley Newman (Whidbey Island, Wash.) and Kosanke would take the lead, 2-1, for SU with a pair of wins at No. 6 and No. 4 singles, but Harry James tied the score with a win in the No. 5 spot for the Bobcats.
The score would be tied again, 3-3, as Kevin Lynch (Colorado Springs, Colo.) earned a win at No. 2 singles and MSU’s Markus Schleuter earned a win at No. 3.
Coming down to the final match, Topp won the first set, 6-2, but dropped the final two to MSU’s Niklas Brandes as the Bobcats earned the victory.
Seattle U returns to action next weekend in Reno, Nev. as they take on Nevada on Friday, Mar. 14 at 12 p.m. and UMBC on Saturday, Mar. 15 at 1 p.m.
