Seattle University men’s tennis (4-7) earned the doubles point, which proved to be the difference maker, as they came away with the 4-3 victory vs. Liberty (3-3).

Liberty’s Shea Thomas tied the match with the first singles victory before wins by Zach Kosanke (Bellevue, Wash.) at No. 3 singles and Egon Samaai at No. 2 singles retied the score, 2-2.

Ian Clare (Sachse, Texas) would win in the No. 4 spot before LU’s Dillon Segur again tied the score with a win at No. 5 singles. Coming down to the final singles match, Connor Leahy (Portland, Ore.) earned the win, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 6 singles to clinch the win for the Redhawks.

Seattle U hosts Washington in their only match on the weekend on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m.
