Kevlyn Richards (Gig Harbor, Wash.) won two events for the second straight day, but those would be the only victories for the Seattle University women's swim team, as the University of Idaho won a dual meet Saturday afternoon, 175-86, at the UI Swim Center.
Richards won the 100 breaststroke in 1:05.64 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:23.33, defeating Kelsie Saxe of Idaho in both events. Karla Ruff (Seattle, Wash.) finished third in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.06), 200 breaststroke (2:24.79), and the 200 individual medley (2:13.26).
Nicole Doi (Pleasanton, Calif.) touched the wall second in the 50 freestyle in 24.99 seconds and in the 100 freestyle in 54.34 seconds. Jane Liggett (Portland, Ore.) finished second in the 100 butterfly in 59.00 seconds and in the 200 butterfly in 2:09.33, and the two of them joined with Melissa Randolf (Everett, Wash.) and Stephanie Bayless (Spokane, Wash.) for a second place finish in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:39.51.
Allie McGavock (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) came from behind for a second place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:23.02. Rachel Leighter (Eugene, Ore.) finished in third place in both the 100 backstroke (1:01.87) and 200 backstroke (2:11.57), and Megan Kelley (Las Vegas, Nev.) finished behind Liggett in third place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.81.
The Seattle University swim teams will head south for a dual meet against CSU Bakersfield next Saturday, Oct. 20, beginning at 12 p.m.
