At the final home swim meet of the season, several personal records and a new pool record were set as the Seattle University women took on Oregon State and Boise State in a double dual meet at the Connolly Center.
“This meet was better – we continue to close the gap and really understand Division I competition,” said interim head coach Kat Cuevas. “We continue to go for it, and this was against two solid Division I programs and we narrowed the point gap against both of them.”
Alexis Morehouse (Vancouver, Wash.) had the only two victories for the Redhawks, with a win in the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.22, just .17 off the school record, and the 200 breaststroke in 2:19.22. Kevlyn Richards (Gig Harbor, Wash.) was just behind her in both events, placing third in the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.00 and third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:23.94.
Hayley Cobb (Irvine, Calif.) finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:08.54 in a tight finish against Bronco Jennifer Cahill, and third in the 200 freestyle in 1:55.43, both new personal records.
Marina Pomar-Enders (Mill Creek, Wash.) finished third in the 1000 freestyle with a new personal record of 10:40.22, and Casey Hoffman (Burien, Wash.) also set a personal record, coming behind Pomar-Enders in fourth with a time of 10:51.10. In a really strong day, Tina Nguyen (Hillsboro, Ore.) finished third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.66.
In the relays, Nguyen, Morehouse, Shelby Remillard (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Kelsey Henan (Billings, Mont.) placed fourth in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:49.05. Cobb, Henan, Hanna Basler (El Cajon, Calif.), and Nguyen finished third in the 400 freestyle relay in 3:34.53.

The Redhawks will next see competition when they travel to Long Beach, Calif. for the MPSF Conference Championships on February 23-26.
