Despite five event victories, including two by freshman Alexis Morehouse (, ), the women’s swim team lost to the , 165-100, Friday evening at the UI Swim Center.

Morehouse swam season-best times in winning both the 100 breaststroke (1:05.80) and 200 breaststroke (2:23.01). She also swam the second leg of the meet-opening 400 medley relay and, along with Sarena Hobson (, ), Heather Nelson (, ), and Tina Nguyen (), cut over three seconds off the team’s previous season best, finishing third in the event with a time of 4:06.32.

Connie Rae Shobaken () shaved three and a half seconds off her previous best in winning the 200 butterfly in 2:12.02. Elizabeth Hanohano (, ) won the 100 butterfly, lowering her season-best time to 1:00.21, while Hayley Cobb () followed with a victory in the 200 individual medley in 2:12.40.

Before winning the 200 IM, Cobb finished third in both the 1000 freestyle (10:56.45) and the 500 freestyle (5:20.10). Hanohano finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:57.13) and third in the 100 freestyle (54.71), while Hobson earned a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:04.03) and a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:16.18).

Hanna Basler (, ) finished fourth in both the 100 backstroke (1:05.07) and the 50 freestyle (26.04) before joining the 400 freestyle relay team of Nguyen, Kelsey Henan (), and Hanohano to finish third in that event with a time of 3:43.77. Earlier in the meet, finished fourth in the 200 freestyle (2:00.28) and third in the 200 breaststroke (2:35.90).
