Senior Austen Powers (, ) shot 10-of-13 from the field, including making both three-point shots he attempted, to lead with 23 points and seven rebounds. Chris Gweth (, ) hit five three-pointers on his way to an 18-point performance, while Michael Wright () contributed 12 points and four rebounds during the game.

Seattle University took a quick 10-2 lead four minutes into the game before Northwest Christian scored seven unanswered points to cut the Redhawk lead to one at 10-9. broke the game open with 14 straight points midway through the first half, eight of them by Powers. A 12-2 scoring run early in the second half increased the Redhawk lead to 21 at 50-29 as the home team cruised to its third straight victory to open the season.

Northwest Christian (4-2) was led by Dylan Perry, who shot 5-of-7 from the field for 13 points, while Jordan Whittenburg scored 12 points, 10 of them in the first half, and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. The turnovers were the difference for the Beacons, as they shot 48.6 percent from the field but attempted 29 fewer shots than the Redhawks, who shot 47 percent from the field.

Sophomore guard Drew Harris () had a career night off the bench, scoring seven points, dishing out five assists, and earning two steals in 19 minutes of action. Shaun Burl (, ) made a couple of nice moves in the paint and finished with six points, and Mike Boxley () scored only four points, but contributed to the victory in other ways with four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
