For the third time this season and sixth time over the past two years, Seattle University senior forward Jason Cascio has been named GNAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week after providing all of SU's offense over the past week.

For the third time this season and sixth time over the past two years, senior forward Jason Cascio () has been named GNAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after providing all of SU’s offense over the past week.

Last Monday against Incarnate Word, Cascio tied the match in the 66th minute, taking a crossing pass from Sean Morris () and slipping his shot into the net. He then ended the Senior Day match 4:35 into the second overtime as a John Fishbaugher (Redmond, Wash.) corner kick was tipped by Cameron Mertens (Kennewick, Wash.) to Cascio, who beat the Cardinal goalie for his fifth game-winning goal of the season.

Saturday at Interbay Stadium, Cascio gave a 1-0 lead over Seattle Pacific, scoring in the 63rd minute from ten yards out off a pass from Eric Forner (). Cascio was the biggest offensive threat all night, leading all players with seven total shots, including five shots on goal, as the Redhawks and the Falcons played to a 1-1 tie.

Cascio is second in the GNAC with 13 goals, 29 total points, and five game-winning goals. With 31 career goals, he has moved past Shawn Good into fifth place on ’s all-time goals list, just one tally behind present assistant coach Alex Chursky. He is also seventh on the school’s all-time list for career points with 71, just two behind Good’s total of 73 points.

(15-2-1), the GNAC champion for the sixth time in the past seven years, is awaiting word on when and where it will play the regional of the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Tournament next weekend. The Redhawks entered the week as the top-ranked team in the region and went 1-0-1 during the week.
