SEATTLE - Seattle University volleyball’s road trip extends through the weekend as the Redhawks (3-11, 0-4 WCC) travel over to Pacific for a noon clash against the Tigers (4-13, 0-5 WCC) inside the Alex G. Spanos Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Redhawks come off a competitive first road WCC contest of 2026, forcing the Gaels past 25 points in the closing sets, but could not extend the match any further, falling in three. Both Seattle U and Pacific will go for their first wins in WCC play this season.
Sophomore Chloee Leslie moved to 115 kills on the season after leading the offense on Thursday evening alongside freshman Vai Unga. Leslie ranks 21st in the conference this season in kills, averaging 2.45 kills per set in 14 matches of action. Seniors Adee Butler and Teagan Melton aid the offensive effort, both sitting within the WCC’s top-25 in kills with 105 and 104 kills respectively.
Orchestrating the offense is junior Grace Jones, who paces the team with 247 assists, surpassing 700 career assists after recording ten against Saint Mary’s. Fellow setter, sophomore Bella Jones, led the team against the Gaels with 14 assists. She ranks 14th in the WCC with 129 assists this season.
Junior Hailey McEllrath leads the team from the service line, ranking amongst the WCC’s top-25 in aces with 13. Freshman Janae Demant picked up a pair of aces against Saint Mary’s alongside Bella Jones. The pair each surpassed 10+ aces on the season in the effort.
Demant runs SU’s defense, patrolling the floor with 162 digs, averaging 3.38 digs per set in 14 matches. Pacing the Redhawk block is sophomore Lexi Jones, who sits eighth in the conference in total blocks with 48.0. Her 1.20 blocks per set ranks third in the WCC. Both Jones and Leslie sit in the top-6 in the league in solo blocks, with Jones pacing the duo with 10 solo blocks. Leslie sits sixth with eight solo blocks in 14 matches.
The Redhawks are sixth in the conference in blocks with 107.0. Their 35 solo blocks are first in the WCC, out-pacing second by two solo blocks.
Seattle U and Pacific meet for the fifth time in program history dating back to 2011. In their first meeting as WCC conference mates, the Tigers took the lone meeting of 2025 in three sets. Saturday’s meeting is the third meeting in Stockton.
