STOCKTON, Calif. — Leo Flores scored a hat trick, including the game-tying penalty kick in the 88th minute, as Seattle U men's soccer rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 3-3 draw at Pacific Wednesday night at Knoles Field.
The Redhawks (3-3-3, 0-0-2) jumped in front just 1:14 into the match when Flores finished a feed from Cesar Batres for his third goal of the season. Seattle U maintained its 1-0 advantage through halftime, outshooting the Tigers, 5-4, in the opening period.
Pacific responded early in the second half, converting a penalty kick in the 50th minute to tie the match. The Tigers then jumped ahead in the 58th minute before doubling their lead in the 67th minute to take a 3-1 advantage.
Seattle U answered with Flores' second goal of the night in the 72nd minute. Batres provided the assist, with Alex Notzka also credited with an assist, cutting the deficit to 3-2.
The Redhawks continued to pressure Pacific late, earning three corner kicks in the final 10 minutes before Flores was fouled in the box in the 88th minute. Flores calmly converted the ensuing penalty kick to complete his hat trick and bring Seattle U level at 3-3.
