SEATTLE - For the first time in four years, the Seattle University women's golf team in heading east to compete in the Red Bandanna Invitational, hosted by Boston College in Canton, Mass. The tournament takes place September 21-22 at Blue Hill Country Club.
Competing for the Redhawks will be Jeanne Padillo, Blayne Brown, Zoe Rubichon, Melissa Gilloz and Alayna Rafique.
Jeanne Padillo had the Redhawks' strongest start last week at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, tying her career-best round of -2 under, 70 and finishing 27th individually.
Sophomores Blayne Brown and Zoe Rubichon had similar tournaments last week, both finishing 45th and carding +10 over, 226. Both had a best round of +1 over, 73, which Rubichon achieved once and Brown twice across the three rounds of competition.
Junior Melissa Gilloz looks to bounce back from a rough start last week and return to form after a solid sophomore season where she finished as high as 14th place at the Diamante Intercollegiate.
Alayna Rafique will be making her collegiate debut. The freshman from Leeds, England, looks to continue her successful high school career, in which she had multiple top-five finishes, including second place at the 2025 Sir Henry Cooper Championship and third place at the Tommy Fleetwood International Pathway Series.
The last time Seattle U competed in this tournament, then named the Boston College Intercollegiate, was in 2022. The Redhawks placed third of 16 teams, with four of five competors placing in the top 25, including Samantha Bruce earning a third place individual finish.
