UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. – The Seattle University men's golf team hosted the Seattle U Redhawk Invitational Presented by L.A.B. Golf at Chambers Bay in University Place, Wash., this week. The team made a strong showing, finishing sixth of 14 teams with an overall score of +1 over in a competetive field.

The highlight of the tournament for the Redhawks was Kevin Li, who put up an impressive showing, finishing third overall with a score of -6 under, 210. After a lukewarm day 1, where he was +1 over with an eagle and four birdies across two rounds, Li made a statement on day two, shooting -7 under 65, including two eagles and two birdies in his final five holes. His third round is not only the best round of any Redhawk this season, but also a career record round versus par and is tied for third lowest round in program history. This concludes a strong March for the junior, who began the month winning the individual title in the Nick Watney Invitational.

"That was an impressive final round by Kevin," said head coach Marc Chandonnet. "It's incredible to shoot a 65 on a U.S. Open facility."

Walker Lamb and Burly Hildreth also showed out, finishing tied for thirteenth with -2 under, 214. Lamb had an eagle and nine birdies, with his best performance coming in the first round, where he shot -3 under, 69. Hildreth, who competed as an individual, had the defining performance of his college career, with a career-best round of -2 under, 70.

Will Koch rounded out the Redhawks finishing within the top 25, carding +1 over, 217 for 23rd place. Conrad Chisman finished in 52nd place with +9 over, 225 and Jacob Kang shot +14 over, 230 and placed 60th.

Competing as individuals, Jakob Balkovec scored +7 over, 223 and finished in 43rd, and Ben Ragland placed 58th with +12 over, 228.

"We're so thankful for a couple of fantastic days of good weather, the golf course was in exceptional condition and the staff at Chambers Bay is always first class," said Chandonnet. "A huge thank you to Terry Thomas and the PNW Group, Visit Tacoma, L.A.B. Golf, the USGA staff, Chambers Bay staff and all the volunteers who helped make this event possible."

The Redhawks will next take action in their final tournament of the regular season, when they compete in the El Macero Classic, hosted by UC Davis at the El Macero Country Club in El Macero, Calif., from April 10-12.
