REDHAWK HEADLINES

SERIES HISTORY

Seattle U is 1-1 all-time vs Saint Mary’s College. Their first meeting came in 1978, a 4-1 victory for the Redhawks at Memorial Stadium.

LAST MEETING
The two sides last met in 2014, a 2-4 loss for SU in Moraga. Brady Ballew scored the opener in the 23rd and Race Sciabica added another 25 seconds into the second half, but a pair of late Gael goals dropped the Redhawks.

REDHAWKS BLANK PIONEERS
Seattle U put up three goals, and the defense kept Denver out of the net as the Redhawks secured their first all-time win vs the Pioneers on Monday. Cooper Brunell and Aidan Fong both scored their first goals in a Redhawk uniform in the first half and Nico Wiskel put the match to bed with a goal in the 90th minute. Charlie Lanphier made six saves for his second win and fourth clean sheet of the season.

IT’S A TEAM EFFORT
Through eight matches this season the Redhawks have had nine different goal scorers. Yeider Zuluaga (5) and Lars Thorne-Thomsen (2) are the only SU players with multiple goals to this point.

CALIFORNIA DREAMING
The Redhawks are 5-2-2 in the state of California since Nate Daligcon became head coach in 2023. Their only losses came vs LMU (9/14/23) and San Diego State (10/17/24).

FROM THE WAC TO THE WCC
The 2025 season will be the first for the Redhawks in the West Coast Conference after spending the last 13 in the Western Athletic Conference. Seattle U won a combined 10 conference championships between regular season and tournament, and posted a record of 83-19-14 during their time in the WAC. Their win total and conference championships are both conference records.

ZULUAGA ON ANOTHER LEVEL
Yeider Zuluaga put together a career season just through conferene play. His five goals and five assists tie his career single-season best, while also topping the WCC in both categories. He is also the conference’s leader in points this season with 15.

LANPHIER IN TOP 5
With his shutout win over Denver, Charlie Lanphier now ranks 5th in program history in career wins (23), shutouts (14), and saves (126). He is five wins behind Josh Adachi (2016-18) for 4th in program history.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT
The Redhawks have gotten big contributions from their freshmen class. Four different freshman have found themselves in the starting XI throughout the season, while Allen Saye Blegay Jr and Ismael Yeo have both found the back of the net on the year in their first collegiate season.

4th FOR THE NEWCOMERS
Seattle U came in a tie for 4th place in the Preseason WCC Coaches Poll, level with San Francisco. San Diego, last season’s conference winner, was picked 1st, followed by Oregon State and Portland. The Redhawks also received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 preseason poll.
