ARLINGTON, Texas - The end-of-year Western Athletic Conference awards were announced today, with Marc Chandonnet earning his third career WAC Coach of the Year award and Kevin Li his second All-WAC First Team award.

Chandonnet also earned WAC Coach of the Year in 2017 after leading the Redhawks to their first NCAA Regionals as a team. Chandonnet has also earned WAC Coach of the Year for his work with the women's team, earning the award in 2024 after helping Seattle U to its first-ever NCAA Regionals as a team.

Since Seattle U joined the WAC in 2012, Chandonnet is one of just four coaches to earn multiple men's golf WAC Coach of the Year awards, alongside Mark Mueller (Grand Canyon, twice), Mike Dirks (New Mexico State, four times), and J.W. VanDenBorn (UMKC, thrice). Including both men's and women's golf, only Mike Dirks has earned more WAC Coach of the Year awards since Seattle U joined the conference.

Li has earned All-WAC First Team in each of his first two years at Seattle U. Li joins Nathan Cogswell (2021-2023), Jack Rahon (2022-2023), and Joe Harvie (2015-16, 2018) as the only Redhawks to earn All-WAC multiple times. Cogswell is the only other Redhawk ever to earn All-WAC First Team multiple times, doing so in three straight years, 2021-2023.

After becoming the third Redhawk ever to earn WAC Freshman of the Year last season, Li became the first to ever earn All-WAC First Team in his freshman and sophomore years. Joe Harvie also earned All-WAC in both his freshman and sophomore years, earning Second Team in 2015 and 2016.

Li, Chandonnet, and the Redhawks will next compete in the NCAA Regionals in Bremerton, Washington. The Redhawks will be one of 14 teams at that Regional, with the top five teams advancing to the NCAA Championship, as well as the low individual not on one of the advancing teams.
