PULLMAN, WA - The Seattle University Redhawks started the men's golf season strong at the two-day, three-round Palouse Collegiate, finishing with one of the program's best scores ever. The Redhawks finished in fifth at the 15-team competition, finishing with a team score of -22. The -22 was Seattle University's second-best team score ever at a 54-hole event, just behind the -30 from 2022-23's UC San Diego Invitational and tied with the -22 at that year's WAC Championship.

"We had an amazing first week and I'm so excited about the group of young men we have," said head coach Marc Chandonnet. "I appreciated their ability to be committed and comfortable in the moment and how they handle adversity well to keep fighting when we had to. Also, a huge congratulations to Conrad Chisman on a great first collegiate event!"

The Redhawks started strong with a -10 as a team in the first round. After a par round two, the Redhawks put up a -12 as a team on the final day. The -12 under, 272 was the third-lowest round in Redhawks history, just behind the 267 (2022-23) and 271 (2019-20) both accomplished at the Nick Watney Invitational. The -10 under, 274 is good for the sixth-lowest round in Redhawks history.

Conrad Chisman and Kevin Li finished tied for 15th, tops among Redhawks. That duo each recorded a -7 over the three-round competition. That score vs. par put the pair tied for the fifth-best 54-hole score in Seattle University history.

Chisman shot a -4 under 67 in round one, the first round of golf in the freshman's collegiate career. Li's -6 in the third round was a new career best, topping the -5 he recorded at last year's Nick Watney Invitational. The -6 was also the fifth-best score vs. par in Seattle University history.

Liam Gill nearly set a new career-best with a -4 in the third round, finishing -6 and in 20th place overall. Koch's -4 was just one stroke off his career-best -5 at the UC San Diego Invitational last year.

Will Koch and Ben Ragland finished tied with a +3 over three rounds. Both shot -2 under 69 in round one. Walker Lamb finished at +9 in his first collegiate golf tournament.
