NACOGDOCHES, TX - Seattle U baseball continued their hot offensive stretch, taking down Stephen F Austin, 17-2, in the finale of their 3-game series in Texas. The win completed the sweep for the Redhawks as they scored 41-combined runs vs the Lumberjacks over the weekend.
"Good weekend for the guys," said head coach Donny Harrel. "We needed to win a series and play good baseball, so hopefully we can use this momentum moving forward."
The Redhawks offense scored in all but two innings on the day, including a 7-run performance in the 8th. Eight different Redhawks combined for 16 hits on the day, with Cole Kleckner, Grant Heiser, and Trevor Antonson all having 3+.
Antonson again was a big standout in the game, hitting his 4th home run of the season in the 6th inning. That made it back-to-back home runs for Antonson and moved him in to sole possession of 3rd place in career home runs in program history.
Sam Kane led the way in RBIs, driving in four and bringing his team-leading total to 33 on the season. He was joined by Antonson, Heiser, and Michael Tsoukalas as Redhawks with mult RBI days.
Jarek Woodward (2-4) would get the win on the hill for SU, going six innings and giving up just one earned run and striking out four Lumberjacks.
The win improves the Redhawks to 12-27 on the season and to 6-12 in conference play. The series sweep was also their first since 2019, when they twice swept former WAC member Chicago State.

Well that didn't take long! Antonson now sits alone in 3rd on the all-time career home runs board in program history.
