STOCKTON, Calif. - Seattle U baseball took care of business Monday morning, knocking off Pacific, 9-5, in Stockton. The Redhawk offense raced out to an early lead before the pitching staff sealed their second win of the young season.

The Redhawks (2-2) scored all nine of their runs in the first four innings of the game. They recorded an early season-high of 16 hits spread among seven different players. Freshman Sam Kane accounted for four of those hits and drove in a game-high three runs. Derek Gellos also continued to swing a clutch bat, bringing home two more runners to bring his season total to five. Cole Kleckner registered a pair of hits, and now he has a 31-game hitting streak dating back to last season.

Brady Liddle had his first start of the 2024 season on the mound, going three innings while giving up three earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts. Kaden Alberghini was credited with the win, his first of the season. The sophomore went 2 1/3 and gave up no runs on just one hit. Although not in a save situation, Cameron Dayton sealed the victory by picking up the final eight outs with three strikeouts.

The win moves the Redhawks to 2-2 on the season and wraps up the opening weekend 4-game road trip in California. They will return to the Golden State for another four, starting on Friday, Feb 23, when they open a 3-game series with San Jose State. They will then play one at San Francisco before returning to Seattle.
