TUCSON, Ariz. - Seattle U women's basketball concludes the 2023 calender year on the road, heading to Tucson, Arizona, for a matchup with Pac-12 powerhouse, Arizona. The Redhawks and Wildcats will tip off at 1 p.m. pacific time in the McKale Center on New Year's Eve. The contest will be streamed live on Arizona's Pac-12 network with live stats available.

SOPHOMORE SENSATION
Mya Moore has been one of the Redhawks best players over her last five contests, averaging 14 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.6 steals and 1.6 blocks in 25.1 minutes per game.
The Milwaukee, Wisc., native marked a career-best 28 points and four steals against Portland State (Nov. 25) before logging seven rebounds, three blocks and 12 points in their win over Utah Valley (Nov. 29).
The forward continued her strong play into December, recording a career-best six assists to go along with eight rebounds, three steals and 12 points against SDSU (Dec. 11) and another 14 points, four steals, three blocks and eight rebounds against UTSA (Dec. 19).
WAC OPENING WIN
Seattle U began Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play on a positive note, defeating Utah Valley, 58-48, for Head Coach Skyler Young's first career win at the helm. Both Peyton Howard and Mya Moore led SU in scoring with 12 each, while Howard set a new career-high with seven assists and Moore tied her career-best with three blocks.
Julianna Walker made her season debut in the contest, scoring 10 points with three made three pointers to go along with three rebounds. Irena Korolenko provided a strong presence in the paint, grabbing 11 boards and marking a new career-high six steals.

NEW LOOK ON THE BENCH
The 2023-24 Redhawks will feature a complete new look behind the bench, lead by the sixth women's basketball coach in program history, Skyler Young. Young's first staff at the helm of the Redhawks features Michael Brooks, Rachel Swartz, GeAnna Luaulu-Summers and Makala Roper.
Brooks previously coached in collegiate athletics at Bradley University, serving as head coach from 2012-16 with one season as an assistant coach (2011-12), while Swartz returned to the Pacific Northwest after spending last season at Saint Mary's and Luaulu-Summers makes the move to Seattle from University of Oregon where she served as the Ducks' director of creativity and student athlete support. Coach Young retains one familiar face in Roper as she will mark her fourth season as a member of Seattle U.

SCOUTING ARIZONA
The Wildcats were selected to finish seventh in the Pac-12 Preseason poll after finishing last season 22-10 and making it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Kailyn Gilbert leads Arizona in scoring (15.3 PPG), while Breya Cunningham provides a strong interior presence (8.2 PPG, 2.3 BPG).
Adia Barnes marks her seventh season behind the bench of the Wildcats. Seattle U and Arizona have only meet once before with the Wildcats taking the contest in 2018.
