LAS VEGAS - Seattle U men's soccer used a 2-goal second half to snag a come from behind victory over UNLV, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in Las Vegas. The win secured an unbeaten run in conference play for the Redhawks, and locked up the #1 seed in the 2023 WAC Tournament next week.
After conceding an own goal in the first half, goals by Kotaro Hirokawa and Lennard Fock in the second half helped secure the comeback win. It was Hirokawas third goal of the season while Fock found the back of the net for the sixth time this season as he also had a brace earlier in the road trip at Utah Tech.
Assisting on the Hirokawa goal was Jaden Manetta and James Morris. For Morris, it was his seventh goal of the year which put him in first place in the conference. The forward now leads the WAC in goals and assists in his comeback season.
On the defensive half of the field, the Redhawks looked sharp once again. Charlie Lanphier made four saves on the day to bring his regular season total to 37.
