CORVALLIS, Ore. – John Morrow of Seattle U men's golf snatched a career-best finish at the Oregon State Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, claiming fourth place overall with a three-round total of 212 (70-70-72). The Redhawks wrapped up the tournament with the second-best final round of the event, logging a eight-over 292 to tie for fourth place out of 14 teams. The two-day, 54-hole event took place at Trysting Tree Golf Club on the 7,384 yards course with a par of 71.

"Our guys battled hard, stayed positive and I am proud of how mentally tough they were throughout," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "Trysting Tree was a very difficult test at 7,400 yards with the weather certainly not making it any easier. We led the field in birdies and still noticed areas that we could improve upon. There are many positives that we are taking away from this event."

Seattle U recorded the most made birdies (41) of any school and finished fourth and fifth in par three average (3.15) and par five average (4.82), respectively. The Redhawks finished ahead of Golfweek's 45th ranked Long Beach State and 81st ranked Southern Mississippi.

Morrow was consistent throughout the event, opening with two one-under 70 rounds before finishing with a one-over par round on Tuesday. The native of Tsawwassen, British Columbia, Canada, led the field in par four average (3.93) and tied for fifth in made birdies (10).

Kevin Li (77-74-67) used the second-best overall round of the entire tournament at four-under 67 on Tuesday to move up 49 spots in the leaderboard to finish tied for 17th overall. Li and Ben Ragland (71-76-75) both finished tied for seventh overall in made birdies with nine, while Will Koch (73-74-78) made just one less birdie then the pair. Blake Kukula (75-74-78) and Ragland tied for first in par three average (2.92).

Seattle U concludes the 2023 fall campaign in Stockton, California, heading to the Pacific Invitational from October 16-18.
