FRESNO, Calif. – Seattle U men's golf heads to its second tournament of the 2023 fall season this week, traveling to Fresno, California, for the Nick Watney Invitational, hosted by Fresno State. The two-day event is scheduled to take place at Fort Washington Courtly Club on the 6,729 yards course with par of 71.
"We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead of us," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "We have a quick turnaround and after reflecting, we feel like our preparation was solid this past week and we are ready to compete."
The Redhawks will be competing against golfers Sacramento State, UC Irvine, Gonzaga, St. Mary's, UC Riverside, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Utah State, California Baptist, Utah Valley, Southern Utah, Pacific and Fresno State. Seattle U's team lineup will consist of Kevin Li, Blake Kukula, Ben Ragland, Will Koch and Liam Gill.
This marks Seattle U's seventh consecutive year competing in this tournament. The Redhawks took fifth place out of 16 teams last season, setting new program records in low round (267), low round vs. par (-17), low total over a period of 36 holes (553) and low 54 hole total (838). They were the only team to shot a round under 270 all tournament.
