FULLERTON, Calif. - Opong and Morris both find the back of the net as Seattle U men's soccer knocked off Cal State Fullerton, 2-0, Thursday night in California. It was the second straight win for the Redhawks on the young season, and their first road win on the new campaign.
After a scoreless first half, Jeremy Opong would help the Redhawks breakthrough in the second when he slotted home a cross from Yeider Zuluaga in the 58th minute to take the lead. 12 minutes later James Morris made a run from midfield to the box, taking on several Titan defenders before he rocketed one into the back of the net to double the advantage.
The Redhawks were able to secure the win thanks in part to another clean sheet from Charlie Lanphier and the SU defense. Lanphier was only called on to make one save on the day, securing his second straight win and shutout.
