Men’s 4x100m School Record Headlines Long Beach/Bryan Clay Invitational Meet

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Seattle U track and field split their squads to both the Long Beach Invitational, hosted by Long Beach State, and the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific. The Redhawks continued to set top-ten school history marks, headlined by the men's 4x100m tying the school record.

LONG BEACH, Calif. - Seattle U track and field split their squads to both the Long Beach Invitational, hosted by Long Beach State, and the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific. The Redhawks continued to set top-ten school history marks, headlined by the men's 4x100m tying the school record.

LONG BEACH:

At the Long Beach Invitational, the men's 4x100m squad of Noah Payne, Miguel Rosario III, Tom Topinka and Isaiah Payne clocked in a time of 41.51 seconds. The mark by the quartet tied the school record, set over ten years ago in 2012.

Livii Fetterley continued her streak of setting top-ten marks in school history. In the 100m hurdles, Fetterley clocked in a seasons best of 15.74 seconds, improving on her standing of sixth in school history in the event, now only being .02 seconds away from fifth.

The Redhawks had an excellent showing in the long jump, with four athletes either placing themselves on the top-ten list or setting a college best. Reyna Dismukes and Bri Rogers led the squad, both jumping a mark of 5.53m. The mark by Dismukes was wind legal, which places her fifth in school history in the event. Ashley Hagar cracks the top-ten list, as she would notch a mark of 5.30m to put her ninth in school history. Shannon Sadler also sets a college personal best, as she would jump a mark of 4.95m.

Three men put up historic marks in the 100m. Miguel Rosario III set a blistering mark of 10.58 seconds placing him 18th overall in the meet. Noah Payne and Kavon Holden ran their fastest marks in the event, as Payne clocked in a time of 10.83 seconds and Holden finished in 10.91 seconds. The effort by Holden was wind legal, so his mark counts towards the top-ten list as the sixth fastest time in school history.

Taylor Marks set a new personal best in the 200m. Marks clocked in a time of 25.95 seconds, improving on her place as seventh in school history in the event.

BRYAN CLAY:

Sophomore Azalea Groleau led the way the Bryan Clay Invitational, putting up two top-ten marks in school history. In her track 5k debut, Groleau clocked in a time of 17:00.27, which was good for third in school history. The next night, Groleau would come back to race the 1500m, where she finished in 4:37.04, which was good for seventh in school history.

The Redhawks had a strong showing in the men's 800m, with two athletes cracking the top-ten list. Grad transfer Hezekiah Goodwin led the charge, clocking in a time of 1:54.21, ranking him sixth in school history in the event. Alex Jensen breaks into the list, running a personal best of 1:55.16 to place him tenth in school history. Teammates Alex Franklin and Matthew Holme were in close pursuit, as they would finish in 1:55.20 and 1:55.56, respectively.

Grace Much was the lone representative in the women's 800m. Much would clock in a personal best of 2:16.28, placing her ninth in school history in the event. Much came back the next night in the 1500m to run a personal best of 4:39.29.

Grad transfer Rajesh Gill set a new personal best in the men's 1500m. Gill clocked in a time of 3:54.17. The effort from Gill now places him sixth in school history in the event.

In the women's triple jump, the Redhawks showed up big again, with two new personal best for the crew. Shannon Sadler had a great day, jumping a PR of 11.17m to place her sixth in school history. Ashley Hagar also put up a solid performance, notching a mark of 11.09 to put her seventh in school history. Bri Rogers was .01m away from her personal best, jumping 11.69m.

The Redhawks will return to action in two weeks at the OSU High Performance Meet in Corvallis, Oregon.
