DALLAS, Tex. - Seattle U women's golf concluded play at the Trinity Forest Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 12th overall. "I feel really good about the challenges we faced," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "Our team has a very upbeat energy around it and we are getting closer to some break out weeks. We had some moments of really great golf, taking the positives out of mistakes when they were made. There is such a fine line in this sport as everything could change if each player just saved one or two shots on a round."

Seattle U played some of its best golf on the par fives, scoring an average of 4.83 and finishing with an overall score of 10-under.

Graduate student Samantha Bruce (72-74-74) was the next best Redhawk, tying for 10th overall in made birdies (12), while sophomore Rivekka Jumagulova (78-72-73) finished just three strokes behind her. Fellow sophomore Shayna Lu (82-71-73) tied her season-low round of 71 in the second round, while senior Azumi Arai (76-80-78) rounds out the team score with a three-round total of 234.

"It's difficult to make the change from cold and rainy weather like Seattle to more of a windy and fast course," said coach Chandonnet. "I am proud of the way we competed even though our finish leaves a bit to be desired."

The Redhawks' next event will take them to Ka'anapali, Maui, Hawaii, for the Anuenue Spring Break Classic from March 27-29.
