Women's Tennis Defeats Montana

SPOKANE, Wash. - Seattle U women's tennis wrapped up their three-day trip to Spokane with a dual match against Montana. After dropping the doubles point in the beginning of the match, the Redhawks were able to rally back and defeat Montana, 4-3.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Seattle U women's tennis wrapped up their three-day trip to Spokane with a dual match against Montana. After dropping the doubles point in the beginning of the match, the Redhawks were able to rally back and defeat Montana, 4-3.

In double's play, Lola Tavcar and Mireia Fehr would win their second doubles match of the trip, as they would pick up a dominant win over Shivika Agrawal and Maria Goheen, 6-1. 

Elena Kraleva and Liliya Dimova were paired up to face Montana's duo of Grace Haugen and Hailey Murphy, but would unfortunately drop the match, 2-6. Marija Elenova and Jade Quintana would team up to face Rosie Stark and Lauren Dunlap, but would lose the match, 1-6.

In singles play, Elena Kraleva and Liliya Dimova were able to redeem themselves after their loss in doubles play. Kraleva would face off against Hailey Murphy, and would dominantly win her matchup in two identical sets of 6-4. Dimova would face off against Lauren Dunlap in a competitive match, and would take the win 6-4, 7-6(4).

Marija Elenova would play Maria Goheen in the third singles match. After winning the first set 6-4, Elenova would have to retire the match due to an injury. 

Lola Tavcar would square off against Nancy Cabanas in the next match. After losing the first set, Tavcar would come back and win the next two sets to take the match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. Tavcar would end the day with wins in both singles and doubles play on the day.

Jade Quintana would redeem herself as well in singles play in her match against Shivika Agrawal, dominantly winning the match 6-1, 6-4. Shuanghui Huang would round out play for the Redhawks in her match against Ivayla Mitkova, but would lose her matchup 0-6, 1-6.

The next time the Redhawks will take the court will be January 21-22 when they travel over to Eugene, Oregon to face Portland State and Oregon.
