SPOKANE, Wash. - Seattle U women's tennis continued their three day trip to the east side of Washington as they traveled to Spokane to compete in a dual match against Gonzaga. After winning the doubles point, the Zags carried the momentum into doubles, winning the match 6-1.
In double play, the pairing of Elena Kraleva and Liliya Dimova started strong, winning against the Zag duo of Cate Broerman and Adrianna Sosnowska, 6-2. Unfortunately, the Redhawks would drop the next two doubles matches. Marija Elenova and Jade Quintana battled valiantly against Tiegan Atken and Jenna Sloan, but would be defeated 3-6. Lola Tavcar and Mireia Fehr teamed up to take on Kianna Oda and Rose Hayes, but would drop the match 0-6.
In singles play, Elena Kraleva had a competitive match against Cate Broerman, Kraleva would end up getting the win (7-5, 6-4) to secure victories in both her singles and doubles matchup.
Liliya Dimova squared off with Adrianna Sosnowska, but would unfortunately drop the match 1-6, 2-6. Marija Elenova was matched up against Jenna Sloan, but would also lose 4-6, 3-6.
Lola Tavcar had a close match against Kianna Oda, that went to a third super tiebreaker set. Unfortunately, Tavcar would drop her match, 7-6(5), 2-6, 2-10.
The last two matches were played by Jade Quintana and Shuanghui Huang for the Redhawks. Quintana would be paired off against Teigan Atken, but would lose the matchup 0-6, 1-6. Shuanghui Huang took on Rose Hayes, but would also lose her match 0-6, 1-6, as well.
The Redhawks will take on Montana on Sunday, January 15 to finish their weekend road trip.
