SEATTLE - Seattle U men's and women's cross country have announced its 2022 season schedule, which includes three regular season races, followed by the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Nacogdoches, Texas, hosted by Stephen F. Austin on October 28.

The Redhawks open the season in Portland, Oregon, at the Portland State Viking Rust Buster on September 2. The men will be racing a 6k, while the women will be racing a 5k.

A month later, they will travel to Salem, Oregon, to compete in the Charles Bowles Invitational on October 1. The Redhawks return to the event after a strong showing from both teams, with the men finishing fourth and the women finishing third. Last year, Emily Harris came away with a top-10 finish and personal bests in the 5k, running a time of 18:28 to finish ninth.

To conclude the regular season, the Redhawks travel to Oregon one last time to compete in the Lewis and Clark Invitational in Estacada, Oregon. The women had an excellent team performance at the meet last year, finishing second overall and scoring 98 points. Harris finished within the top 25, placing 20th with a time of 22:19 in the 6k. On the men's side, Jay Grant set a personal best of 25:21 at the race last year, and incoming transfer Hezekiah Goodwin set a PR of 25:06 while representing Pacific Lutheran University.

To start the postseason, the Redhawks will be competing locally for the NCAA West Regionals Championship, which is taking place at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Washington, on November 11th. The race will decide which teams from the West Region will advance to the NCAA Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on November 19th.
