SEATTLE – Seattle University men's and women's golf Head Coach Marc Chandonnet has added Joe Harvie as an assistant coach ahead of the upcoming 2022-23 season.

"I am very excited to be able to bring Joe back to our program," said Chandonnet. "His success as an athlete and ability to connect with team members on and off the course will serve him well. Coaches nowadays have numerous types of roles to fulfill and I know Joe will be up to the task. He is a very intelligent young man that works hard and understands how to improve. He is a natural leader that will be able to add value in everything he is asked to do."

Since graduating from Seattle U, Harvie has been playing professionally on the PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. The native of Orting, Wash., spent the spring season as a volunteer assistant coach for both programs.

Harvie was one of the best Redhawks in recent history, claiming numerous awards and records in his four years. A member of Seattle U's 2017 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championship team, Harvie was the first Redhawk to win a WAC Freshman of the Year award and holds the school record for finish percentage (67.7%) and made birdies (390).

Harvie is a three-time WAC All-Academic recipient, two-time Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar and holds a First and Second Team All-WAC award. He ranks third all-time in player career scoring average (73.44) after playing the most rounds of anyone in their career.

"I am so grateful for the opportunity," said Harvie. "I am looking forward to giving back to a University that gave me so much. I can't wait to make this a great year."
