Redhawks Set Two School Records at Hayward Premiere

Seattle U track and field participated in both the Hayward Premiere, hosted by Oregon, and the NW Distance Jamboree, hosted by Portland State, on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. The majority of athletes competed in the Hayward Premiere at Hayward Field where senior Tricht Jocelyn and junior Lucas Milne set school records in the 100m and 110m hurdles. Overall, the Redhawks set another nine top-ten marks and 23 personal records (PR).

EUGENE, Ore. - Seattle U track and field participated in both the Hayward Premiere, hosted by Oregon, and the NW Distance Jamboree, hosted by Portland State, on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. The majority of athletes competed in the Hayward Premiere at Hayward Field where senior Tricht Jocelyn and junior Lucas Milne set school records in the 100m and 110m hurdles. Overall, the Redhawks set another nine top-ten marks and 23 personal records (PR).

Jocelyn sets the new school record of 12.07, which is .02 better than the previous record she set last season. The Fort Myers, Florida, native continues her record-breaking pace, setting school record number six on the still young season. 

Milne, who broke the school record in the 60m hurdles and heptathlon during the indoor season, beats the previous school record set by D'Andre Benjamin back in 2008 by .17. The Kailua, Hawaii, native also set new PRs in the javelin throw and long jump which rank eighth and tied for third all-time. 

Also in the javelin throw, redshirt junior Nicole Whittern placed sixth overall with a mark of 42.47m (139' 4") which is about a meter off her second all-time mark and personal best. 

On the track, sophomore Maya McCabe and junior Isaiah Payne both earned top six finishes in the 800m and 100m, respectively. McCabe finished fourth overall with a time of 2:11.91, while Payne was .05 off his personal best in his sixth place finish. 

In the 3000m steeplechase, redshirt sophomore Rowan Cuadrado and sophomore Emily Harris posted times of 11:07.61 and 11:05.66, improving their PR times by about 36 and 15 seconds. These new PR marks also rank fifth and fourth all-time, respectively.

Justin Blunden- new PR in the 400m.
Rowan Cuadrado- new PR in the 3000m steeplechase which ranks fifth all-time.
Amadeus Eckart- new PR in the 200m at the NW Distance Jamboree. 
Conor Flaharty- new PR in the 400m and wind aided PR in the 200m.
Alex Franklin- new PR in the 800m which ranks seventh all-time.
Azalea Groleau- new PR in the 1500m.
Lilianne Hargreaves- new PR in the 1500m.
Gus Harquail- new PR in the 1500m which ranks 10th all-time. 
Emily Harris- new PR in the 3000m steeplechase which ranks fourth all-time.
Matthew Holme- new PR in the 400m.
Tricht Jocelyn- new school record in the 100m.
Sebbie Law- new PR in the 400m.
Taylor Marks- new PR in the 200m and 400m which ranks seventh and 10th all-time respectively. 
Lucas Milne- new school record in the 110m hurdles and new PR in the javelin throw and long jump which ranks eighth and tied for third respectively. 
Grace Much- new PR in the 1500m.
Alyssa Recasner- new PR in the 100m.
Shannon Sadler- new PR in the long jump.
Abby Smith- new PR in the 5000m at the NW Distance Jamboree. 
Tom Topinka- new PR in the 100m.
4x400m relay- Maya McCabe, Regie Grady, Ellie Postma, Chloe Deleissegues set seventh all-time mark.

The Redhawks will split up once more in California for the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa and the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, spanning Apr. 13-16.
