SEATTLE - Seattle U women's tennis begins Western Athletic Conference (WAC) play with its only two home dual matches of the season on Friday and Sunday. Sunday marks senior day for five Redhawks as Seattle U will recognize Aranza Alvarez Sanabria, Hannah Grossman, Jade Lancaster, Jillian Rasmussen and Alisa Sabotic as well as Billy Givens-Jensen and Juan Pablo Jaramillo from the men's team.

"We are all excited to have the opportunity to host this weekend," said Head Coach Kristina Hollander. "Sunday should be a great day as we get to recognize our seniors and look to start WAC play on a high note."

The Redhawks open WAC competition against Grand Canyon on Friday with doubles play starting the match at 2 p.m., while the weekend ends Sunday against Chicago State at 9 a.m. Both matches will take place at the Seattle University Tennis Courts and will not feature live streaming or live stats.

Seattle U is tabbed to finish third in the newly created western division according to the WAC preseason coaches poll with the defending champion, Grand Canyon, picked to finish atop.

Freshman Mireia Fehr was named WAC Singles Athlete of the Month for September after taking three victories in the Red bracket at the WSU Cougar Classic. Fehr defeated Utah State's Brooke Demerath in convincing fashion, 6-1, 6-2, and followed up that performance with another strong victory against Montana's Aili Hietala by a score of 6-1, 6-1. She claimed the tournament championship with a victory over Portland State's Majo Hernandez, 6-2, 6-2.
